Welcome To The 'Family Home' Of Dax Moy And Friends

Well Friends for those that have followed my journey since March of 2008 you will remember that my motivation to lose wieight, control my blood pressure and live a more healthy lifestyle started off becuase I had a son get married in June of 2008. the LGNC that started in March of 08 ended the week after the wedding. I Iost 30 pounds and kept it off.

A year ago Oct 31 my step son became engaged and another wedding date was set for Oct 10 of 2009. So that meant I had to stay vigilant. Then in December of 2008 my youngest son announced his engagement and a second wedding date was set this time for October 31 of 2009.

Yes, two boys getting married not just in the same year but the same month 3 weeks apart. There was no getting around it, I needed to loose a bit more and maintain that loss for a year. I am happy to say that we are now in November, and both boys are happily married and I too was successful in having lost a total of 37 pounds and keeping that weight off for 18 months.

The very best compliment I could ever have recieved was when my son saw me on his wedding day and exclaimed
" Mom you look amazing" I am not a bad looking person and I dress very professionally for work, but his expression said it all. As a result of Dax's training I was able to wear a strapless cocktail dress with a bolero jacket and felt great being able to wear it. My daughter also had been using the ED program and she works out all the time but had not been losing the inches..or weight, she dropped two dress sizes before the wedding and looked great in her bridesmaid dress.

Now I am thinking as one wedding is over and the second is approaching that I can relax a little, but OH NO not to be. My step daughter has announced her engagement I am only the "step mom" of the bride but we all get along so there will be another batch of pictures that will be taken and I can't let my guard down. I do not know when the wedding will be as no date has been set. I have mixed emotions, from a financial point of view I am hoping they wait another year. From an ED point of view I was kind of hoping to relax my eating lifestyle a bit. I did enjoy a number of glasses of wine at the wedding but then again I danced all night too.

So my friends the journey continues...after this there is only 1 more child to marry she tells me not to hold my breath as there are no prospects in site..does that mean I will have to stay ED friendly and work out forever? O M G !!! just in case a 5th wedding needs to be planned? Looks like eating healthy, excercising, and blogging are now a part of my life just in case I have a wedding to plan..after that it will be playing with granchildren, and then who knows??

Dax I owe much of my success to you and your programs, with all the traveling I do for work and that is tiring in and of itself, I honestly do not think I could keep up the pace without your programs. As always the working out daily is my downfall, but each time you toss out a challenge I am game to give it a shot.

Thanks
Margot

Thanks for your post.. just found out yesterday the next wedding is set for Oct 2010...Oh well another year of getting ready for more pictures;.Seriously staying ED friendly has become a lifestyle. when I detour I just do not feel good and my stomach rebels. the most serious culprit is bread..If I really limit wheat products the rest seems to fall into place. I find I can have a dessert or two but it's not like it was a couple of years ago, if things are too sweet I just don't like it. My mom bakes a lot using splenda so I will have a couple of cookies now and then but I do not end up eating an entire package of double stuff oreos on a weekend.like the old days. One weak point is I make my own scones on weekends mostly. they are made with splenda but using self rising flour and heavy cream. They are tasty.

I can truthfully say I have not had any caffeine, decaff or any tea and soft drinks since March 24 2008. I don't miss them and eating out is a whole lot cheaper when you don't drink and order only water. I also find that if I do order wine, I can maybe get 1 glass or 1 1/2 glases and then i just can't finish it.

I do wish I lived in London and could go to Dax's studio but not going to happen.. Too bad Dax does not commission some US trainers and open a franchise here in the states. Now that would be cool. I have a couple of Personal Trainers that would do well with his philosophy.

Anyway have a great rest of your weekend.

Margot,
so good to hear from you and how the last 18 months played out for you. Congrats on loosing the weight and keeping it off, that is a great accomplishment! I am sure you feel much better and healthier as well, I can't believe you are just doing it for the weddings :-). I know you don't enjoy working out, but again, it is the diet that ultimately makes the biggest difference in the way you look, working out is the icing on the cake and a great tool, but diet is 80% I think. And you have it down pretty well, despite your hectic traveling schedule and a little wine on the weddings! See how it goes when you relax a little, but be ready go go back "on" when the scale starts moving up!
Looking forward to hearing much more from you, keep up the good work my friend,

Annette

Margot,

It is so lovely to hear how you are getting on. It sounds like an amazing 18 months. I am slowly easing into a way of eating and exercising that works for me. I'm currently more strict than I plan to be long term as I still have inch loss goals to fulfil. But long term I anticapte being ED most of the time - what that means I will only be able to work out when I get to a maintenance point. It may be 80% it may be 90% but I know that when I let myself off the ED it will only be for quality and in moderate quanitiy.

I, and I am sure you too, could not bear to let all the hard work go to waste (or waist)

love

Natasha
