This is true - to an extent.
There is no gluten in oats, it is cross contamination that is the problem.....
However, if someone is celiac or gluten intolerant, they still may have a problem digesting oats. as the proteins are similar in structure...
I was about to join you as a friend, but then thaught it would be better to ask you first if you don't mind.
Must confess I picked you because of your name - Valladares - you wouldn't by any chance be of portuguese origins, would you?
Well, been reading some of your comments and found that you know much about healthy eating, nice friend to have around...
I'm new to the ED and haven't been a very nice girl so far. On and off is what I've been able to do, but I figured I really have to make a choice in my life - do I wan't to keep doing what I've been doing, pleasing everyone who thinks I'm a lunatic for wanting to cut off a bunch of food and go on discomfortable with myself, or plan ahead, make a deal with myself and make a real effort to be healthy and pleased with myself for that...
You'd think the answer's obvious, wouldn't you?
Thing is, we never, ever do what's obvious and right, right?
I have a question
you mentioned before that the cholesterol in eggs won't effect our overall cholesteral I think you said because our bodies don't work that way could you explain this to me please. You can be as complex as you like . Thank you
Nutrition is my favorite subject after I graduate from my personal training class I am going on to the Midwestern Holistic collage for nutrition. So information to me is gold.
Thank you very muck , Kari
Hi Antonio, thanks for your comments on the water thing. Well, I was being a bit ott about forcing down freezing water, but it is true that without structuring it i wouldn't drink it. I never feel thirsty except when I eat meat or salty things. 4 years ago I made a habit to drink 500ml warm water first think in the morning and stuck to it ever since, but getting in another 3 bottles is proving hard. I've always seen tea drinking as my "only vice" (and after all black tea is supposed to have cancer fihting properties while green tea is supposed to be essential!) but recently Troy Anderson from T-nation sugested my difficulty with getting down to very low bf percentages even when on a serious cutting diet may be hindered by lazy adrenal glands. So, do you have an opinion on herbal tea? It's sure comforting to drink something warm. Mark Sissons who has also written extensively about health and believes we should live/eat as naturally as possible doesn't believe we should drink when we aren't thirsty. After all, animals don't. If people didn't drink so many other kinds of drinks (in my case tea) then probably they's drink water more often.
Love your cookbook! I truly believe that Americas' poor health is directly related to our overprocessed, nutrient poor, and contaminated food supply. Thanks for all the reliable nutrition information.
